Writing Challenge - Day 9
Day 9: How do you handle stress?
Talking about stress, I’m not sure I handle it well. To be honest, stress has been messing up my days lately. But thankfully, it’s still within my limits — good for me :3.
How I handle stress depends on its severity. If it’s mild, I just keep going with my work because, as of now, it doesn’t affect the results of what I’m doing or my daily life. So, I guess it’s fine.
In fact, stress is something we live with — it’s unavoidable. Humanity itself has evolved by enduring stress. After all, our ancestors wouldn’t have survived if they stayed in their caves without searching for food. While it’s a basic part of life, it still produce what we call stress.
If the stress piles up a little, I take a small break from whatever I’m doing and continue when I feel better. When stress starts to affect my work or fog my mind, I stop entirely to clear my head and refresh my mood. Taking a break is key to staying productive, right? :3
If it’s severe, what I’d call the dangerous level of stress, I take a longer break by myself. At this point, I tend to be overly sensitive, and I’m afraid I might say or do something I’d regret later, especially with a foggy brain and unstable emotions. Once I feel better, I pick up where I left off.
Sometimes, playing games, watching something, or socializing helps reduce my stress. But honestly, I think these are just ways to avoid the real issue. To truly handle stress, we need to address the root cause — solve the problem that’s making us stressed in the first place. Only then can we really move on.
Stress is a part of life, it also teaches us to adapt and grow. I might not have mastered handling it yet, but I’m learning every day :3.
